Frequently Asked Questions

What types of memorabilia can I include in my album?

The list of possibilities is endless, but here are some ideas: ticket stubs, programs, vacation brochures, boarding passes, postcards, baby’s hospital bracelet and id tag, newspaper clippings, greeting cards, children’s artwork, and so on. News clippings would be photocopied onto acid free paper before mounting in an album.

How long will it take to complete my album?

A 20-page, 12x12 album will take between three and six weeks.
A 20-page 8 ½ x11 or smaller album will take between two and four weeks.
Additional time may be necessary for albums with more than 20 pages

What if I already have a memory album I want to use?

If you have a scrapbook album that is photo-safe, archival, etc. we will be happy to complete it for you. You will need to ship the album to us so we can coordinate colors & ship the finished product back to you.

How many photos will I need to send?

A 12x12 album will hold between 3-5 photos per page, or 6-10 per two-page layout.
An 8 ½ x11 album will usually hold between 2-3 photos per page, or 2-6 per layout.
These are estimates, and depend upon the size of the photos and the layout design of the pages.

What if I don’t want a photo cropped (cut) or permanently mounted?

We use permanent, photo safe adhesives when creating albums, and we crop what obviously doesn’t belong in the picture. However, we want you to be happy with the finished product, so please indicate clearly which photos you do not want cropped or permanently mounted. (Affixing a post-it note to the back of the photo is a very good way to do this.)

It is recommended that old, black & white photos not be cut or affixed to pages with adhesives that are considered permanent. In these cases, we will use photo corners for mounting the photos to the album page.

If you are at all unsure about the use of permanent adhesives or cropping of your photos, we highly recommend that you send us copies and keep the originals.

What is journaling?

Journaling is the story behind the picture. It’s the sharing of details of what was taking place at the time. It’s a very important aspect of any memory album. While we may include titles, poems or simple phrases in a layout, we will not journal your pages. We do incorporate blank journaling “blocks” into the layouts for you to fill in at your discretion.
